Specialty Clinics

Elbow Surgery

Many injuries to these areas can be treated without surgery, and at BMC, physicians explore such options before considering surgery. However, there are times when surgery can be the better option. BMC surgeons are fellowship-trained in elbow surgery and have extensive expertise in caring for the elbows.

Fracture Surgery

Common causes of trauma and fractures are motor vehicle accidents, pedestrians struck by motor vehicles, falls from height and athletic accidents. Often these accidents involve multiple-system injuries and lengthy rehabilitation. Our physicians and staff are there every step of the way, dedicated to returning each patient to their pre-injury level activity if at all possible.

Hand Surgery

Proper functioning of the hands and wrists (parts of the body that are also called the "upper extremities") – is necessary for daily activities. Writing, grabbing, driving, or lifting are severely limited if the muscles, nerves, joints, and bones in these areas are not working properly.

Hip and Knee Arthroplasty (Replacement)

The Arthroplasty team in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery provides services for conditions such as arthritis, including knee and hip replacements, hip preservation surgery, and more.

Pediatrics – Orthopedic Surgery

Children's orthopedic problems are quite different from those typically seen in adults. Because children are still growing and developing, their bodies respond differently to injuries and infections of the musculoskeletal system. Indeed, many of the orthopedic problems we see in children do not even occur in adults.

Ryan Center for Sports Medicine at Boston University

From casual bikers and weekend warriors to best-in-class athletes, anyone can experience injuries. If you’ve experienced a sports-related injury or condition, BMC’s expert sports medicine providers are here to help get you back to doing what you love.

Shoulder Surgery

Proper functioning of the shoulder (parts of the body that are also called the "upper extremities") – is necessary for daily activities. Writing, grabbing, driving, or lifting are severely limited if the muscles, nerves, joints, and bones in these areas are not working properly.

Spine Surgery

BMC orthopedic spine surgeons Drs. Tony Tannoury and Chadi Tannoury are fellowship-trained and board-certified, with experience in all adult spine, back and neck conditions. Dr. Tony Tannoury has pioneered innovative surgical methods and designed some of the most advanced orthopedic surgical instruments used by surgeons worldwide.

Sports Medicine Knee Surgery

The knee is the largest joint in the body and one of the most easily injured. Because of its complex structure and constant use, this puts it at a particularly high risk of being damaged.

Elective Surgery Screening

We want you to have a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. In order to do this, you will need to come to BMC for at least one more appointment, but possibly a couple, before moving forward with surgery. These appointments will be scheduled before your surgical date. During this initial pre-surgery appointment, you will meet with a nurse practitioner (NP) or a physician assistant (PA) to review your past medical history and surgical history. This provider will determine if you need further follow-up appointments with your PCP, cardiologist, or other specialist.
