Breast Cancer Surgery

BMC surgeons are experts in breast cancer surgery and use the latest techniques to provide patients with the best care possible.

Liver Cancer Surgery

Several types of surgical operations and interventions are available to treat liver cancer. Our experienced team of surgeons works with patients and a highly specialized group of other clinicians and staff, including gastroenterologists, interventional radiologists, medical oncologists, and nutritionists to determine the best treatment for each patient.

Pancreatic Cancer Surgery

Surgery is currently the most effective treatment for pancreatic cancer. The two types of surgery used to treat pancreatic cancer are potentially curative surgery and palliative surgery. Potentially curative surgery is performed if it appears the cancer can be removed entirely. If the cancer has spread too far to be completely removed, patients may be treated with palliative surgery. Rather than try to cure the cancer, the goals of palliative surgery are to relieve symptoms and prevent problems caused by the cancer, such as the cancer blocking the bile ducts or the intestine.

Gastric (Stomach) Cancer

Surgery is a common treatment for stomach cancer, which is also known as gastric cancer. Our surgical oncologists work with a team of other medical providers to help patients achieve the best possible outcome.

Adrenal Tumor Center

The Endocrine Surgery team at Boston Medical Center is experienced in treating patients who have adrenal tumors, both benign and malignant. These include pheochromocytomas, paragangliomas, adrenal cortical adenomas, and adrenal cortical carcinomas. Working closely with endocrinologists and other specialists, we develop a care plan tailored to each patient.

Thyroid Nodule Center

At Boston Medical Center, an experienced team of endocrinologists and surgeons evaluate thyroid nodules and determine the best treatment for each patient. Thyroid nodules are common and, fortunately, are usually benign (noncancerous).

Hematology

Patients with blood disorders receive consultation and treatment for a broad range of benign conditions, such as hemoglobinopathies (sickle cell anemia and thalassemia), hemochromatosis, bleeding and thrombotic disorders (von Willebrand's disease and hemophilia), hypercoagulable states, myeloproliferative disorders, myelodysplasia and anemia, and malignancies such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Medical Oncology

The Cancer Care Center at Boston Medical Center and its oncologists care for patients with malignant and non-malignant blood disorders and cancer.

Radiation Oncology

The first step is a consultation with a radiation oncologist who works closely with other physicians and medical professionals to coordinate the best possible care for every patient.
