Escrevendo um plano de nascimento
What Is a Birth Plan?
A birth plan is a way to share your wishes for what you want during labor, birth, and after your baby is born. Chamamos isso de suas preferências de nascimento.
Seus planos podem mudar durante o trabalho de parto. Falar sobre suas preferências desde cedo ajuda as pessoas de suporte e a equipe de atendimento a saber o que você deseja.
Why Should I Make a Birth Plan?
Thinking seriously about how you want your labor and birth to go, and getting something written down (it doesn’t have to be fancy!) will help you:
- Find out what choices you have during labor and birth
- Share what matters most to you with your care team and support people
- Make sure your voice is heard and respected, even if your plans change
- Help you and your loved ones get ready
- Have your birth the way you want it
What Birth Plan Should I Use?
Boston Medical Center midwives worked with BMC patients, care team members, and the nonprofit Partner to Decide to design My Birth Preferences, a guide to thinking about and choosing your birth preferences. The guide takes you step-by-step through many of the choices and options that come up during labor and birth and has a space for you to write down what is important to you.
- You can print out this packet and bring it to a prenatal visit to talk about with your provider.
- You should also review your birth preferences with your support people, and if you have one, your Birth Sister or doula.
But you don’t have to use this guide—you can use any plan that works for you.
