As a part of BMC Health System’s goals to continuously improve not only the quality of care for our patients but also the safety and security of their health information, we offer providers who refer patients to BMCHS the ability to securely access their patients’ medical records online.
Helping Referring Providers Stay Connected
BMCHS ChartLink (powered by Epic) provides real-time secure access to patient information so that providers in the greater community who refer to BMC Health System may access patients’ clinical data and communicate with BMCHS physicians. In addition to having access to BMC Health System patients’ complete electronic chart, affiliate providers also have the ability to be notified about important clinical events.
New User Request Process
To set up ChartLink access for your office, please go to BMCHS ChartLink and click "Request New Account" on the homepage. You will need to provide a signed health data access agreement before we can provide a new ChartLink account for your office.
If you are an individual user in an office that already has BMC Chartlink access, please speak with the site administrator for your office.
Patient Privacy Practices
Patient privacy is very important to us. The same federal laws (HIPAA) that protect the confidentiality of physical medical records also protect them online. Patient charts are securely locked. Only caregivers can log in to the electronic health records (EHR) system and add or view information, and they must explicitly log out when finished.
As an additional safety precaution, if a patient’s record is not actively being used for a brief period of time, it will automatically be logged out.
