Michael A Dawes, MD

Michael Dawes, M.D. is Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). Dr. Dawes is Site Director at VA Boston Healthcare System, and was previously Program Director, BMC-VA Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship until 7.1.26. Dr. Dawes has been recipient of a completed a Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and has been PI and Site-PI on clinical and prospective studies and centers funded by the National Institutes of Health. He has experience designing and implementing quality improvement and systems redesign projects in the Veterans Healthcare Administration and has served as a site-PI for a multi-site study. Dr. Dawes has mentored and supervised faculty as well as many residents, fellows, and other trainees with career goals in Addiction Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine.
