incoming CN Year 3
Alex Stephano Aguirre Bonilla, MD
I was exposed to neurology all my life, particularly when my grandmother developed Lewy Body Dementia. My interest for pediatric neurology sparked when I discovered pediatric epilepsy and became passionate about health equity and advocacy. BMC combines a perfect balance between diversity and excellency in care and learning.
Oscar De LA Rosa Alba, MD
I am from the Dominican Republic and completed my pediatric training at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, where I had the privilege of meeting some of the best role models I could have imagined. Becoming a neurologist has always been my dream, and being able to combine that passion with caring for children feels like the perfect combination for me. I am now preparing to begin my Child Neurology training at Boston Medical Center, an opportunity for which I am deeply grateful and excited.
CN Year 4
Marc Beaudin
I was previously an electrical engineering postdoctoral fellow who had a dramatic career change into medicine. I enjoy running, cycling, gardening, and science-ing. Near the end of medical school at the University of Alberta (Canada), I realized that neurons made electricity and were required to participate in all my interests, so I thought neurology would be a great fit.
I love working at Boston Medical Center due to the phenomenal patient population and the lovely team of providers and paraprofessionals, and I am looking forward to become the best pediatric neurologist I can be!
Ruben Herrera Barrios
As a Pediatric Neurology resident at Boston Medical Center, I have had the opportunity to train in a program that combines strong clinical education, diverse pathology, and a supportive learning environment. Originally from Puerto Rico, I completed medical school at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine before continuing my training in the United States. My multicultural background has strengthened my commitment to culturally sensitive and patient-centered care, which closely aligns with BMC’s mission.
CN Year 5
Genesis Ayala Lopez
I am currently a PGY-5 pediatric neurology resident. I completed a full Pediatrics residency in Puerto Rico, a small and beautiful tropical island, and now I am grateful to be part of this wonderful Child Neurology Residency program. I truly believe his program aims to serve a unique pediatric patient population while offering the best learning opportunities possible.
Although I am not yet decided on a fellowship, I currently am interested in studying headaches and headache management.
Carlos Ramirez Mongil
I am from Puerto Rico and am grateful to be part of this amazing family that is the Child Neurology Residency at Boston Medical Center. Witnessing the impact of a Pediatric Neurologist on improving a patient's quality of life has inspired me to give back to the community while getting the best training possible here at BMC. I'm mostly interested in Epilepsy, but I am still exploring fellowship options.
