Living donor kidney transplantation is an alternative to receiving a kidney from a deceased donor. A kidney transplant from a living donor typically has a much higher success rate, a reduced risk of rejection, and can result in a longer lifespan for the recipient. At BMC’s Living Donor Program, we help both donors and recipients through the process of this donation, with a focus on helping donors as they make this incredible gift.
