Laura J. Goldstein, PsyD

Laura J. Goldstein, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist who works with children and adolescents in the Department of Psychiatry at Boston Medical Center (BMC), where she also serves as Co-Director of the pediatric Pain Clinic. Dr. Goldstein is also an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Dr. Goldstein holds a doctorate in psychology (PsyD) from George Washington University in Washington, DC. She completed her clinical internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, and a fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Goldstein’s clinical area of interest is the assessment of children dealing with medical issues and providing them with appropriate pain management treatment. She seeks to address the psychological needs of children using behaviorally oriented treatments. She has lectured on topics including integrative treatment of pediatric pain and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety disorders.

Dr. Goldstein also has expertise conducting neuropsychological assessments on children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, and other emotional and behavioral disorders.
