Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure

Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2.

All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.

We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions during severe winter weather.

Aftercare Clinic

Patient Resources

The Adolescent After Care Clinic offers care to everyone between the ages of 13 and 22 years old who identifies as having experienced sexual violence and is seeking non-acute medical follow-up.

You are welcome to access services regardless of:

  • Where your primary care doctor is located
  • Whether or not you reported the event to anyone
  • Whether you have sought or completed a sexual assault evidence collection

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, you can contact the 24-hour Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) hotline at 800.841.3871 for support on next steps. BARCC offers free and confidential sexual assault crisis counseling, and they have specially trained medical advocates who can meet you at the emergency room.

If the assault occurred less than five days (120 hours) ago, patients can be evaluated in the BMC emergency department, where healthcare providers can discuss options for prevention of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, sexual assault evidence collection, and toxicology testing.
