Boston Medical Center (BMC) is New England’s largest safety-net hospital and cares for Boston’s most diverse patient population. With over 40 ACGME-accredited programs and more than 650 residents and fellows, BMC offers unequaled educational and career training opportunities.

The Office of Physician Recruitment and Engagement, situated within the Graduate Medical Education Department, is dedicated to recruiting, engaging, and advancing a broad spectrum of physicians within our residency and fellowship programs. By fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, we ensure that our medical community thrives, benefiting both our physicians and the diverse patient populations we serve.

Program Goals

Community Building

Throughout the year, networking and social events are organized to foster connections among our diverse group of medical students, trainees, and faculty within BMC and the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, in addition to neighboring academic medical institutions. These events create opportunities for mentorship, research, and career development.

Recruitment

Our trainees and faculty have the unique opportunity to represent Boston Medical Center and the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine at both regional and national medical conferences, as well as at targeted medical schools, to engage and advise the next generation of diverse physicians.

Engagement

Cross-program engagement empowers residents to build strong connections, collaborate across specialties, and gain diverse insights that enhance patient care. It broadens problem solving skills, expands professional networks, and fosters a more supportive and dynamic learning environment, preparing them for real world teamwork.
