The Allergy/Immunology and Asthma Program at BMC provide expert diagnosis and treatment for a range of allergic and related lung disorders, including specialized care for difficult asthma, food allergy, hives, contact allergy, adult immunodeficiency, and eosinophilic disorders. We work closely with colleagues across our department and the hospital to provide a unique setting of care for patients with complex immunologic disease and associated pulmonary disorders and to ensure a smooth transition from pediatric allergy care to adult care.

A program offering care from a sarcoidosis specialist providing diagnosis and treatment for sarcoidosis symptoms affecting the lungs and other organs.

Care from sleep doctors who diagnose and treat sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and restless leg syndrome.

Education and Training

Allergy and Immunology Fellowship

BMC’s two-year allergy and immunology fellowship provides clinical experience in adult and pediatric allergy clinics, as well as the pediatric respiratory clinic. Fellows also have the opportunity to rotate through highly specialized clinics at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, as well as complete a research project. For individuals committed to a career in research, there are opportunities for a dedicated third research year of fellowship.

Allergy and Asthma Research

The Allergy/Immunology and Asthma Program maintains an active research program. In particular, we have world-renowned research programs in common variable immunodeficiency, pneumonia biology, lung inflammation, and asthma.
