A hearing screening uses a special machine to see how your baby responds to sounds. In MA, all babies have their hearing screened when they’re born.
The number of children who are deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) varies by age, with the numbers increasing with age. Hearing differences can be mild, moderate, severe, or profound.
