Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure

Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2.

All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.

We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions during severe winter weather.

Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics

Treatments and Services

We generally provide care over three visits, with follow-up care as necessary.

Visit One

We meet with you (a parent or guardian) to talk about why your child was referred to us and to get information from providers you’ve worked with before, such as early intervention records, teacher information, or any other testing your child had prior to the first visit with us.

To prepare for visit one, please have a list of your child’s teachers (or early intervention providers, or childcare providers) AND their email addresses available during the appointment. If you consent, we’ll request their feedback by completing a survey before you return for visit two.

Visit one is usually virtual.

Visit Two

We meet with your child in person for an evaluation/assessment.

To prepare for visit two, please make sure your child’s teachers (or early intervention, or childcare providers) provided their feedback by completing the REDCap survey, as it is an important part of the evaluation process.

Visit two is in person.

Visit Three

Your family has an appointment to discuss a diagnosis and recommendations for treatment. Ideally this is in person but can be changed to telemedicine if needed.
