Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure

Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2.

All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.

We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions during severe winter weather.

As children with sickle cell disease grow into teens and young adults, they will need to transition from pediatric care into adult care, which means finding the right care team to support them and address their health needs. BMC's Transitional Care Clinic team, which includes both pediatric and adult sickle cell specialists, works closely with patients and their families during this time to help our young adult patients grow into mature, responsible adults who can manage their health on their own, while providing a safety net as they learn these new skills.
