Alexander Pomerantz, MD MPP

Medical School: Harvard University
Residency: Pediatrics, Boston Combined Residency Program – Boston Children’s and Boston Medical Center

Alex is originally from Wildwood Crest, NJ. He attended Carnegie Mellon University where he was a member of the varsity golf team. As a Tartan, he earned first team all-conference honors and was heavily involved in the Student Athlete Advisory Council. After meeting his wife in Pittsburgh, they moved together to Boston for graduate school. A recipient of the NCAA Post-Graduate scholarship, Alex completed his joint MD-MPP at Harvard University. During his time in medical school, he interned at the Massachusetts State House, worked on a US Congressional campaign, and authored numerous publications around healthcare delivery. After medical school, he completed his pediatrics training in the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Children’s and Boston Medical Center. In residency, Alex discovered his passions for sports, adolescent, and young adult medicine.

Alex is thrilled to continue working with the faculty who first nurtured his love of sports medicine. He is particularly excited to further his knowledge of sideline emergency management, college athletics administration, and diagnostic ultrasound.

In his free time, you will find Alex with his wife, Nicole, and their rescue pup, Moose. Alex loves to golf competitively, cheer for the New York Yankees, and follow collegiate athletics. He is excited to continue rooting for Boston University, Boston College, and MIT athletics in his fellowship year!
