Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure

Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9.

All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.

We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions during severe winter weather.

WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Nutrition Program

Boston Medical Center (BMC) offers WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Nutrition Program. This is a free program that provides nutrition and health education, healthy food, breastfeeding support, and other services free of charge to qualifying Massachusetts families.

What Does the WIC Program Provide?

WIC was developed with the goal of keeping women who are breastfeeding or pregnant, and children under five years old healthy through the following services:

  • Breastfeeding support and nutrition
  • Free healthy food
  • Immunization screening and referral
  • Personalized nutrition information, consultations, and support
  • Referrals for medical and dental care, health insurance, child care, housing, fuel assistance, and other services that can benefit the whole family
  • Workshops on a variety of topics, such as caring for a new baby, maintaining a healthy weight, meal planning, and much more!

How Do I Sign Up for WIC?

WIC is for all kinds of families: married and single parents who are employed or unemployed.
