Project RESPECT provides comprehensive care for pregnant and postpartum individuals with substance use disorders. We work with people at any stage of the recovery spectrum, whether experiencing active addiction or multiple years of stability. The program offers medical treatment, behavioral health support, and long-term support to help patients navigate recovery. With a multidisciplinary team of specialists, Project RESPECT ensures that patients receive individualized, evidence-based care before and after delivery. By addressing both medical and social challenges, the program aims to improve maternal and infant health outcomes while supporting lasting recovery.

Fellowship in Maternal Health Addiction

As a part of a teaching hospital, we welcome learners and trainees, including addiction medicine fellows, residents, students. We also offer a two-year maternal health addiction fellowship, which provides a foundation in general addiction medicine with a unique concentration in complex obstetric care. Our goal is to support the next generation of professionals in providing exceptional care for mothers/parents with a history of substance use disorder. 

Research Overview

Providers at Project RESPECT conduct research on topics such as improving outcomes for neonatal abstinence syndrome, perinatal substance exposure, improving standards of care for pre- and -post-natal treatment for women with substance use disorders, and more.
