Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure

Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2.

All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.

We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions during severe winter weather.

About

Susan Ann Minear, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and a clinical professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. After receiving her medical degree, she completed a pediatrics residency at Tufts Medical Center. Dr. Minear co-created the Newborn Behavior Observation Curriculum and Training, which is used to train newborn care professionals and students in 19 states and 13 countries around the world. She was a member of the BMC Baby-Friendly task force, which led BMC to become the first Baby-Friendly Hospital in Massachusetts in 1999. She is also a member of BMC's Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome task force. Since 2009, Dr. Minear has been the medical director of Baby Steps, a BMC outpatient multidisciplinary clinic that strives to prevent failure to thrive and promote early intervention for infants born at risk.
