Alojamiento conjunto y recuperación en la unidad de posparto
After you give birth, you and your baby will move together to a room in the Postpartum Unit. The nurses and staff will take care of you and your family during this special time. En su habitación, aprenderá a cuidar de su bebé y de usted mismo.
¿Qué es la unidad de postparto?
Postpartum is the hospital area where people stay after birth. In the Postpartum Unit:
- Usted recibe atención y apoyo mientras se recupera.
- Your baby stays in the room (rooms in) with you.
- Your baby gets check-ups and care.
- You get help with feeding your baby.
- Las enfermeras, las parteras, los médicos, los asesores de lactancia y los pediatras le visitarán para verificar cómo están usted y su bebé.
What is Rooming In?
Your baby stays in your room with you all the time in the Postpartum Unit. This is known as rooming in.
What Can I Expect During Rooming In?
While you and your baby are in the hospital, in the same room:
- You or your support people can do skin-to-skin in the room.
- All baby exams and tests will be done in the room.
- Baby’s first bath will be done in the room.
- Babies cry less and have less stress.
- You'll get to know your baby’s feeding cues, which helps with breastfeeding.
- Skilled Postpartum Unit nurses will help you complete all of the necessary steps to prepare you and your baby for a safe transition home.
