The Healing Paws Program

This unique therapy program was established by the Office of Patient Advocacy, which strives to provide systems for coordinating, investigating, and resolving patient and family grievances. Currently there are nine dogs who visit campus regularly, providing in-hospital comfort to patients and families going through trauma and illness. They also provide a furry, warm respite from the stresses of the day to all members of the BMC staff. Read more

The Pediatric Pulmonary Clinic at Boston Medical Center, now accepting new patients, treats children suffering from asthma, chronic lung disease of prematurity, chronic cough, congenital lung disorders, and other respiratory issues. Otolaryngology Nurse Achieves Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree

Science and medicine interested Kate McDonough from an early age. Those interests led her to pursue a pre-med concentration at Boston College. Along the way, a couple of life-changing experiences helped her to identify nursing as her true calling. It’s a field in which she’s excelled both clinically and academically, recently achieving the highest academic distinction in nursing practice: the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. Read more
