Project Evolve

Provider Resources

Community providers may submit a referral via our referral form or by emailing SuffolkCountyJailProject@bmc.org. Please note admission to Project Evolve is contingent on clinical appropriateness and approval by Suffolk County Sherriff's Department’s classification and leadership teams.  

Eligibility Criteria

Our program is open to pre-trial male detainees. There are no exclusions based on charges, but clients must want to work on their behavioral health, such as trauma, addiction, or mental illness.

Expectations

We expect that everyone who is part of our program will:

  • Participate in intake and treatment planning
  • Participate in mandatory STAIR (Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation)
  • Attend 12 groups per week
  • Participate in the daily morning community meeting  
  • Engage positively in community
  • Avoid disrespectful behavior or violence
  • Support the goal of a substance-free environment
  • Engage appropriately with the therapy dog
  • Participate within an accountability framework to address harms/concerns
