Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure

Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9.

All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.

We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions during severe winter weather.

A bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) injection is a treatment that helps damaged musculoskeletal tissue heal and regrow.

For this procedure, your doctor takes a sample of your bone marrow in a process called bone marrow aspiration. They use that sample to make bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC), which has a lot of stem cells and growth factors. These help your cells grow and repair.

Your doctor then injects the BMAC into your damaged tissue. The stem cells and growth factors in the BMAC help the damaged tissue repair itself. They also reduce inflammation and scarring.
