To help prevent the spread of seasonal respiratory illnesses, we strongly encourage all visitors to wear a mask while in ambulatory clinics or inpatient units. Surgical masks are available at hospital and clinic entrances. Patients with respiratory illnesses should also wear masks. Thank you for helping protect our patients, staff, and community.

About

Natalie Pierre-Joseph, MD, MPH, is a board-certified pediatrician working in the Adolescent Center at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Dr. Pierre-Joseph has devoted her immense knowledge, training, and personal experiences as a Haitian Creole bilingual faculty member to develop and champion multigenerational and dyadic strategies for both population-based prevention and patient-centered medical care. At BMC, she is a former Medical Director of the Adolescent Center’s Teen and Tot Clinic and is an expert in the area of adolescent parenting.

Dr. Pierre-Joseph also has clinical and research expertise in primary and secondary HPV-related cancer prevention, especially cervical cancer prevention. Her research focuses on HPV vaccine initiation among low-income and minority population in public healthcare settings. Her work addressing racial/ethnic disparities in HPV vaccination rates in adolescents, and in cervical cancer screenings in adult women, has made her a world leader in cancer prevention among minority communities.
