About

Kristin L. Koo, MSN, WHNP-BC, CNM, is a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) and women’s health care nurse practitioner (WHNP-BC) at Boston Medical Center (BMC), where she directs the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology’s CenteringPregnancy Prenatal Education Program. She is also an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Kristin holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Before pursuing nursing as a profession, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in both El Salvador and Zambia, working on projects focusing on nutrition and health promotion for adolescent girls and women. She subsequently earned both Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Before joining BMC, Kristin worked as a nurse at NYU Langone Health in New York City and as a midwife at Capital Health in Trenton, New Jersey.

In addition to her work in the Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum Care unit at BMC, Kristin provides prenatal and reproductive health care at Yawkey OB/GYN Associates, the BMC Refugee Women’s Health Clinic (RWHC), and at NeighborHealth in East Boston.
