An Update Regarding Seasonal Illnesses

To help prevent the spread of seasonal respiratory illnesses, we strongly encourage all visitors to wear a mask while in ambulatory clinics or inpatient units. Surgical masks are available at hospital and clinic entrances. Patients with respiratory illnesses should also wear masks. Thank you for helping protect our patients, staff, and community.

About

Dr. Kathryn Twomey is a trauma surgeon and surgical critical care intensivist at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed general surgery residency at BMC. Dr. Twomey then completed a surgical critical care fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, before joining BMC in 2019 as an attending surgeon in the Section of Acute Care and Trauma Surgery.
