The Rooftop Farm at Boston Medical Center

Three stories above BMC's power plant, a thriving 2,400-square foot farm grows more than 25 crops. The farm not only provides fresh, local produce to our hospitalized patients, cafeterias, Teaching Kitchen, and Preventive Food Pantry-it is also part of BMC's commitment to sustainability.

Rooftop Farm: BeeMC Honey Harvest!

After about five months, the bees that pollinate Boston Medical Center's rooftop farm have produced 34 pounds of honey for harvesting. The honey that was extracted from the beehives, packaged and colorfully decorated by BMC pediatric patients, will be given to employees as awards for their service.
