Telephone Quitlines and Online Counseling

For those who need ongoing, personalized support, telephone quitlines and online counseling programs are highly recommended.

1-800-QUIT-NOW

This tobacco and nicotine quitline, from the Massachusetts Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Program (MTCP), offers free and confidential one-on-one coaching to help individuals quit tobacco or nicotine, including cigarettes, e-cigarettes/vapes, chew, or other tobacco or nicotine products. The program provides judgment-free phone, email, and text messaging support to help patients stay on track, as well as free quit medicines (such as patches, gum, or lozenges) delivered by mail. It can also offer support to patients who have already quit and need help staying nicotine-free.

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) created SmokeFree to help you or someone you care about quit smoking. SmokeFree is a part of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services efforts to reduce smoking rates in the United States.
