The Immigrant and Refugee Health Center (IRHC) at Boston Medical Center
The Immigrant and Refugee Health Center (IRHC) at Boston Medical Center connects individuals to the full spectrum of medical, mental health, and social services they need to heal, rebuild, and thrive, and specializes in comprehensive and culturally sensitive care. The IRHC provides:
- Primary care for adults through the Immigrant and Refugee Health Program (IRHP)
- Mental health care through the Boston Center for Refugee Health and Human Rights (BCRHHR), including counseling and medication management for refugees, asylum seekers, and survivors of torture
- Specialty women’s health services through the Refugee Women’s Health Clinic (RWHC), such as obstetric and gynecological care, pregnancy services, and surgical consultations
- By referral from local resettlement agencies, refugee health assessments that include screenings and vaccinations for newly arrived refugees
