Our Programs

Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention Program

BMC's cardiac rehab and prevention program, founded in 1985, is one of the area's most established. The program includes exercise training and cardiovascular risk factor modification for patients who have heart disease, including coronary artery disease (recent heart attack, coronary artery bypass surgery, coronary artery angioplasty); recent heart valve surgery; heart failure (including heart transplant and left ventricular assist device [LVAD]). We provide each patient with an initial assessment by a program cardiologist; supervised exercise training; personal nutrition evaluation; cholesterol screening and management; smoking cessation counseling; and social and behavioral support.

PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease) Rehabilitation

The PAD rehab program is designed especially for patients with peripheral arterial disease who are limited by leg cramping during walking (claudication). It includes specialized supervised exercise training and risk factor modification under the direction of one of BMC's vascular medicine cardiologists and is delivered by the same multidisciplinary team and at the same location as our Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention Program.

Lipid Clinic

High cholesterol levels and blood lipids can lead to the development and progression of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and its consequences. Appropriate treatment, however, may slow or even reverse this process. BMC's Lipid Clinic specialists provide detailed personal evaluation and tailored, state-of-the-art management to treat these disorders and help prevent the onset or worsening of cardiovascular disease.
