HomeThe New England Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center is located on a specialized unit within the Center for Rehabilitation at Boston Medical Center. Since 1955, New England Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center has been providing comprehensive care for individuals with spinal cord injury, making us the oldest civilian spinal cord injury rehabilitation facility in the country. | |
With close to sixty years of experience, New England Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center is one of only 14 Model Systems Centers in the nation and the only Model System Center in New England. We consistently offer the latest in research-oriented treatment and the best in spinal cord injury rehabilitation. At the New England Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center, your specialized care begins immediately whether in the intensive care unit or on the acute spinal cord injury unit, continues through rehabilitation, and progresses to outpatient care and lifetime follow-up care. Education is a critical part of the rehabilitation process and continues after you return home; we have created the Stepping Forward-Staying Informed Consumer Education Program. (http://www.bmc.org/rehab/2009conference.htm) This dynamic education program offers consumers, their family members and health care professionals an opportunity to hear from leaders in the field of spinal cord injury research, rehabilitation and treatment. |
Our acute inpatient rehabilitation unit has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Our CARF accreditation along with our designated National Model Systems distinction demonstrates our commitment to providing excellent rehabilitative care and ensuring patient satisfaction.
