Boston Medical Center's Social Work Department provides counseling and supportive services to patients and their families who are presented with
co-morbid problems such as:

  • Addictions/substance abuse behaviors
  • Difficulty coping with and adjusting with chronic, catastrophic, or terminal illness
  • Emotional problems
  • Family problems
  • Mental illness
  • Social problems, i.e. abuse/neglect, domestic violence, homelessness,
    community violence, social isolation/poor support systems, poverty, etc.
