How to Become a Volunteer

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Boston Medical Center. We consider all applications from persons interested in being part of Boston Medical Center Volunteer Services. In order to be considered for placement, we ask that you be able to commit to one shift per week for a minimum of three months and complete the following process:

• Complete our BMC Volunteer Online Application (https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?AP=465646778) and provide three (3) written letters of reference (e-mail references are accepted at volunteer.services@bmc.org). We will not accept references from relatives. If you are under 18, please have your parent or guardian fill out Parental Consent Forms (PDF).
  
  
• Once you are accepted send us your current immunization records. Attach them to the enclosed “Immunization Form for Boston Medical Center Volunteers” (PDF) or have your medical provider update your immunizations and record them on the form. Include documentation of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) immunizations, Varicella, and your most recent TB test, if available.
  

Once you have completed all of the above requirements you will be considered for placement as a volunteer in one of our programs or individual placements as opportunities permit.
