Padmasini Kandadai, MD, MPH

Padmasini (Padma) Kandadai, MD, MPH, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery at Boston Medical Center (BMC), and an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology (Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery) at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Dr. Kandadai earned her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, followed by a fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Dr. Kandadai is the Director of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at BMC. She treats a wide range of pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, bowel dysfunction, pelvic floor dysfunction, bladder pain, and recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs). She frequently collaborates with colleagues in urology, colorectal surgery, physical therapy, and geriatrics.

In addition, Dr. Kandadai is also the Clerkship Director for the OB/GYN clinical clerkship for third-year medical students at BU and directs medical student education for the department. Her interests include minimally invasive surgery and education of residents in vaginal surgical techniques.
