Our mission is to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally sensitive sexual and reproductive health services to newcomer, refugee, asylum-seeking, and recent immigrant communities in the Greater Boston area. Obstetric and gynecologic care is available in many languages from clinicians who speak Spanish, French, and Haitian Creole, as well as BMC Interpreter Services. As part of the Immigrant and Refugee Health Center, our interdisciplinary team strives to promote health care as a human right, providing our patients with the care and support they need to heal, rebuild, and thrive.

A department providing women’s reproductive healthcare and other OBGYN services, including pregnancy, fertility, and menstrual conditions.

A program providing primary care for immigrant and refugee patients, helping eliminate healthcare barriers with check-ups, treatment, and care coordination.
Primary care for people over 18 years old including preventive services, routine exams, chronic disease management, and treatment of minor illness.

Research

Our RWHC Research Team aims to dismantle inequities in sexual and reproductive health for newcomers. At the intersection of migrant and reproductive justice, current studies range from assessing birth outcomes for migrant and newcomer individuals to improving access to abortion care.

Forensic Gyn Evaluations

A forensic gynecologic evaluation (FGE), also known as a gynecologic asylum evaluation, is conducted by independent physicians and sexual and reproductive health professionals to document the consequences of physical harm on an asylum-seeker. Our team is composed of clinical professionals (MDs, CNMs, NPs, LICSWs) who conduct the FGE. All volunteer evaluators within the BMC Refugee Women's Health Clinic are clinicians and trainees affiliated with Boston Medical Center and the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

If you have any questions, please contact us at FMEG@bmc.org and include "Forensic GYN Evaluation" in the subject line.
