When it’s time to choose where to welcome your baby, BMC is an excellent choice. We offer comprehensive obstetric care both at BMC and our affiliated community health centers, where our team of fully trained practitioners—including OB/GYN physicians, family medicine specialists, and certified nurse midwives—provide expert prenatal care. In addition to standard prenatal care and care for complicated pregnancies, we also offer a wide variety of support, including the Birth Sisters doula program, Center Pregnancy groups, and much more.

Education and Training

OB/GYN Residency Program

Our residency program prepares our residents with the medical knowledge, surgical expertise, and leadership skills necessary to be outstanding physicians and surgeons who provide exceptional care to all OB/GYN patients.

Fellowship in Maternal Health Addiction

BMC offers a two-year maternal health addiction fellowship, which provides a foundation in general addiction medicine with a unique concentration in complex obstetric care.

Complex Family Planning Fellowship

BMC's fellowship in complex family planning aims to develop obstetrician-gynecologist leaders in abortion and contraception through training in clinical care, research, education and advocacy.

Research Overview

Our research enterprise consists of academic research, clinical trials, and research programs. It reflects our core capacities in areas such as family planning; reduction of pre-term delivery; management of substance use disorders during pregnancy; and prevention, reduction, and eradication of cervical and anal cancer.

Our faculty are practicing physicians and midwives in these specialties, applying cutting-edge research in their own patient practices. Faculty members from the OBGYN department serve as research mentors for residents, fellows, medical students, as well as masters in science and public health students.
