The Child Trauma and Resilience Network offers internship opportunities for graduate students in social work, psychology, and other mental health programs.
Internship Description
To support clinical interns in providing therapy to children and youth impacted by trauma, interns will receive weekly individual supervision and will participate in training and seminars on pertinent clinical topics. In addition, interns participate in clinical team meetings, present case formulations to multidisciplinary audiences, and engage in client-level advocacy. Other training opportunities may be available based on an intern's interests and availability of staff to coordinate.
Prerequisites
The CTRN internship is well-suited for master's-level students with at least one year of previous experience working with children exposed to trauma or working in early childhood. Interested applicants should:
- Have a strong desire to work with children and youth (0-17) affected by domestic violence, community violence, or other potentially traumatic events.
- Hold an interest in learning and using a range of treatment modalities, including child-parent psychotherapy, play therapy, family therapy, and caregiver guidance.
- Be able to devote 20-24 hours per week for a full academic year or 16 hours for a full calendar year. And
- Possess interest in working with diverse populations
