Teviah E. Sachs, ... MD, MPH, is a world-renowned oncologist and chief of surgical oncology at Boston Medical Center (BMC), where he leads a team dedicated to transforming lives with exceptional cancer care. Dr. Sachs specializes in the treatment of hepatic, biliary, pancreatic, and gastric diseases, as well as soft tissue malignancies and skin cancers. He is also an associate professor of surgery at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
He is board-certified in general surgery and complex cancer surgery, with a focus on improving surgical outcomes, addressing disparities in cancer care, and advancing surgical education. Committed to both patient care and cancer prevention, Dr. Sachs's research explores cancer incidence and screening, striving to reduce barriers to early detection and improve health equity in oncology.
After earning his medical degree from New York Medical College, Dr. Sachs completed his general surgery residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, followed by a fellowship in surgical oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
