Julia F. Aquino, MD, is a board-certified pediatric hospitalist specializing in neonatal (newborn) medicine at Boston Medical Center (BMC), and a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, where she also serves as Director of Medical Student Education and Pediatric Clerkship Director.

Dr. Aquino earned her medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville and completed her pediatrics residency training at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She joined BMC after working in the hospital medicine programs at both Tufts Medical Center and Boston Children’s Hospital. During her tenure at Tufts Medical Center, Dr. Aquino served as Co-Director of the pediatric clerkship and as Associate Program Director of the pediatric residency program. She was the recipient of the Distinguished Educator Award from the pediatric residents. At Boston Children’s, Dr. Aquino was the Director of Network Hospitalist Medicine Education.

Nationally, Dr. Aquino is the Associate Chair of the Curriculum Committee for the Academic Pediatric Association's Educational Scholars Program. Her clinical interests include pediatric hospital medicine and general pediatrics.
