Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure

Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2.

All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.

We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions during severe winter weather.

Ivan Luptak, MD, PhD, is a board-certified cardiologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and an assistant professor of medicine in Cardiovascular Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Luptak runs Luptak Lab, a research laboratory that studies myocardial energy metabolism. Luptak Lab aims to develop therapeutic approaches for improving outcomes by improving cardiac energy efficiency in patients with heart failure. They are currently studying models of diabetic cardiomyopathy and HCM.
