Treatments and Services

Diagnosis and Testing

  • Blood testing for tuberculosis
  • Skin testing for tuberculosis
  • Sputum culture testing
  • Chest X-ray

Treatment

  • Medication for active tuberculosis
  • Contact tracing of patients with active TB
  • Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) — a method of drug administration in which a health professional watches and provides support as a patient takes each dose of a medication, improving treatment adherence and completion.

Case Management

  • Management of complications related to TB medications
  • Treatment of patients with latent (inactive) TB infections

Referrals to the Clinic

To refer a patient to the Tuberculosis Clinic, healthcare providers must complete the Tuberculosis Clinic Referral Form (PDF) and fax it to 617.534.4976.

To schedule an appointment for a suspected tuberculosis case, providers should contact the TB clinic triage nurse at 617.534.4875.
