Vein ablation is a treatment for varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency. It can relieve symptoms like pain, swelling, itching, throbbing, or cosmetic issues.

This procedure is minimally invasive and can be done with a laser, radiofrequency waves, or chemicals. These methods can all be used to close off the varicose vein. After the vein is closed, your blood will flow normally through other nearby veins and the varicose vein will no longer be visible.
