Yasmine H. Elhefnawy, MD, FAAP is a board-certified pediatric neurologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC), where she directs the Pediatric Headache Program, and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
Dr. Elhefnawy also provides care at BMC’s Pediatric Pain Clinic, which focuses on pharmacological and integrative management of pain in children.
Dr. Elhefnawy graduated magna ... cum laude from medical school at Cairo University in Egypt. She completed her pediatrics residency training through Michigan State University College of Human Medicine at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. She then completed further training at Boston University/BMC through the Department of Neurology’s three-year pediatric neurology residency program. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and a member of the Child Neurology Society, American Academy of Neurology, and Newborn Brain Society.
Dr. Elhefnawy's research interests include patient education; exploring barriers to care and promoting treatment for headache disorders; and concussion. In addition to English, she is fluent in Arabic.
