Stephen P Christiansen, MD, is the Chief of Ophthalmology at Boston Medical Center and the Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Christiansen is an expert in pediatric ophthalmologygy, adult and childhood strabismus, pediatric cataract, pediatric glaucoma, and tearing. His work has been recognized by ophthalmic organizations around the word, and he has served in numerous leadership roles on the American Board of Ophthalmology, the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and the American Orthoptic Journal. Dr. Christiansen is also an extensive researcher focused on childhood and adult strabismus, pediatric cataract, retinoblastoma, and retinopathy of prematurity.
