Dr. Kirsten Austad attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning degrees in English Literature and Medical Microbiology & Immunology. She went on to earn her medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 2013 and completed her residency in Family Medicine, with a focus in women’s health, at Boston Medical Center. She then completed the Global Women's Health Fellowship at Brigham and
... Women's Hospital, earning a MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Her areas of clinical focus include Hospital Medicine and Family Planning. She has experience as a hospitalist both at Boston Medical Center and Mass General Brigham / Dana Farber Cancer Center. Currently she serves as the Medical Director of the HealthNet Inpatient Service at Boston Medical Center. She is also a reproductive health provider at HealthQ clinic in Lawrence, MA.
