Kevin A. Maymí-Quintana, MD, is an internal medicine hospitalist at Boston Medical Center (BMC), where he is currently serving as the Executive Fellow in Quality Improvement (QI) and Patient Safety. He is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Dr. Maymí-Quintana received his medical degree from Ponce Health Sciences University School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and completed his internal medicine residency training at BMC. His interests include quality improvement, patient safety, and cardiovascular outcomes research. As QI and Patient Safety fellow, he leads initiatives to improve healthcare quality and care delivery, particularly in cardiovascular medicine. This includes implementation of the American Heart Association’s Get with the Guidelines® programs.

Dr. Maymí-Quintana's clinical research focuses on the role of lipoprotein(a) in cardiovascular disease and outcomes. He also investigates the electrophysiologic effects of metabolic therapies, particularly glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs), on atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias.

In addition to English, Dr. Maymí-Quintana is fluent in Spanish.
