About

Kalo Sokoto is a Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow for the RESTORE Center and will provide both Trauma focused clinical and research services. She did her predoctoral psychology training at Boston University's Center for Multicultural Psychology, the oldest Multicultural Psychology (CMTP) training program in the U.S. As an intersectional psychologist from Kenya, Kalo is familiar with the collective psycho-socio-cultural impact of imperialism and is an advocate for decolonizing psychology primarily through institutionalizing liberatory principles in psychology training, research and clinical practice. She also currently co-facilitates a popular mental health support group for Haitian mothers at Boston Medical Center's Refugee Women's Health Clinic in response to the influx of Haitian immigrants fleeing political instability.
