ServicesThe NICU at Boston Medical Center is multidisciplinary, with the capacity for 15 critically ill infants. Our state-of-the-art technology includes conventional and high frequency ventilators, inhaled nitric oxide for treatment of pulmonary hypertension, and the Cool Cap (the only FDA approved brain cooling therapy) for perinatal asphyxia. Surgical correction of many common congenital anomalies is also available at Boston Medical Center. We emphasize developmentally appropriate care of neonates and culturally sensitive care as our patients come from many different ethnic and religious backgrounds. In addition, we are a baby-friendly hospital supporting breastfeeding and use of pumped breast milk for 90% of our term and preterm babies. |
