Childbirth Labor and Delivery Suite Tours
Tours of BMC’s newly renovated Labor and Delivery suites with single family postpartum rooms, newborn nursery and NICU are available in English and Spanish. Tours last approximately one hour.
Monday and Friday at 3 PM

What Happens in Childbirth Classes?
Childbirth classes help you know what to expect during labor and birth. You can talk with other pregnant women, learn about how your body works and how your baby is growing. You will talk about birth, breastfeeding and new motherhood. Childbirth education can be a safe place to ask questions or talk about your worries.

When Are Childbirth Classes at BMC held?
Monday & Friday, Drop-in Childbirth Groups (12:30 pm – 3 pm) (En Espanol) Informal classes in Spanish offered to learn more about labor, birth, breastfeeding, newborn care and postpartum care. (Yawkey OB/GYN, 850 Harrison Ave.)
Tuesday, Drop-in Childbirth Groups (1 pm – 5 pm) About labor, birth, breastfeeding, newborn care and postpartum care. Group members help decide on the topics for the day. Free of Charge. (Yawkey OB/GYN, 850 Harrison Ave.)
Tuesday Evenings, Childbirth Series (6 – 8 pm) Tuesday evenings for 6 weeks. Families learn about labor and birth, breastfeeding and newborn care. $20 Fee. (Menino Pavilion - Second Floor, 840 Harrison Ave.)
Tuesday, Drop-In (1 pm – 5 pm) Luz Lopez, Childbirth Educator (En Espanol) Group members help decide on the topics for the day. Free of Charge. To inquire about classes in Spanish please email Luz at, Luz.Lopez@bmc.org (Yawkey OB/GYN, 850 Harrison Ave.)
Saturday Workshop, Labor and Birth (Noon – 5 pm) A one-day Prepared Labor Workshop... Families who want information on breastfeeding and newborn care may take the Tuesday evening classes “Breastfeeding”, “You and your baby after birth”. $20 Fee for BMC members and $50 fee for non-members. (Menino Pavilion, 840 Harrison Ave.)

Where Are Classes Located?
Drop-in Classes in English and Spanish are held in Yawkey OB/GYN Associates, located on the 4th floor of the Yawkey Ambulatory Care Building, 850 Harrison Ave.
the Tuesday Evening Series and Saturday one-day workshop is in held in Menino Pavilion Conference Room C, located in front of the cafeteria on the second floor of the Menino Pavilion, 840 Harrison Ave.

How Much Do Classes Cost?
Tuesday evening series and Saturday workshops are $20 for BMC patients payable by check or money order (no cash please). Non-BMC member cost is $50.
Classes at Yawkey OB/GYN Associates on the 4th floor are free of charge and open to all families delivering at BMC.
