Boston Medical Center’s Department of Neurology is at the forefront of understanding neurological diseases and transforming the clinical practice of neurology in unprecedented ways. Patients receive the latest in therapies and treatments based on research that is ongoing at BMC. Our areas of advanced clinical expertise include Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, stroke and Alzheimer's disease.
- BMC is one of only nine hospitals in the country—and the only hospital in Boston—to be designated by the American Parkinson's Disease Association as a "Center for Advanced Research."
- BMC was recently recognized for its achievement in implementing the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Get With The GuidelinesSM (GWTG) for stroke care. BMC has received the GWTG Gold Performance Achievement Award for stroke. This level of achievement shows BMC’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for stroke patients.
- BMC is one of two Alzheimer’s Disease Centers in Massachusetts, funded by the National Institute on Aging. Researchers at our Center are working to translate research advances into improved diagnosis and care for Alzheimer’s disease patients while, at the same time, focusing on the program’s long-term goal—finding a way to cure and possibly prevent Alzehimer’s disease.
We are committed to exceptional care, without exception.
