A cancer diagnosis can be a life-altering experience for you and your loved ones. The Cancer Center supports you during all aspects of care – from diagnosis through treatment and recovery – with more than just medical care. We are dedicated to providing you and your loved ones with services that address a wide range of needs, including social and emotional needs.
If you are interested in any of the below services, please talk to your care team.
Patient Navigation
The Oncology Patient Navigation Program focuses on helping you overcome barriers that prevent you from getting the treatment you need. They do this by connecting you to resources that can help with those barriers.
Patient navigators work to empower you by linking you to a broad range of services. They’ll meet with you during your cancer care appointments and provide a behind-the-scenes support by reaching out to resources or other clinics on your behalf.
If you are interested in meeting with a patient navigator, please ask your doctor or nurse about this service.

Social Work
Social workers are available to help you and your family with emotional, psychological, and social service needs. They are available in inpatient and outpatient units and can meet with you before or after their doctor's appointments. They often work together with navigators, depending on a patient’s needs. If you are interested in meeting with a social worker, please talk to your doctor.
Nutrition
Diet and nutrition can be an important part of your cancer care. They can help you stay healthy overall and may help relieve symptoms. A nutritionist can help you address any concerns about your diet during your treatment. If you are interested in meeting with a nutritionist, please ask your doctor or social worker.
